With Hot Topic, your community's most popular topics get branded "hot"! Any post over a certain number of replies triggers the Hot Topic icon, alerting your members to the active post. You choose the number of replies and the image icon (defaults are of course initially provided).
With Sticky Topic, you can "stick" any post at the top of a forum. Since most recent posts are listed at the top of a forum, even the most important ones will get pushed down eventually as newer ones are created. But not with Sticky Topic!
